Understanding
Fat Transfer

Non-invasive cosmetic surgeries have been rising in popularity for a number of years. Patients are seeing the same or even better results from “natural” body-shaping procedures, without the drawbacks of going under the knife.

Making the choice whether or not to opt for a natural cosmetic solution over an invasive one increasingly easier all the time.

At Uvence, we’re at the forefront of innovative, safe, non-invasive, cosmetic procedures. One of our procedures; “fat transfer”, is a safer and more natural alternative to the traditional fat transfer procedures.

Here’s a look at how we perform fat transfer, our super enriched tissue formula, and how it can help you achieve a more youthful appearance.

Understanding Fat Transfer

What is fat transfer?

The term “fat transfer” is a general cosmetic surgery term used to describe the process of moving fat from one part of the body to another.

This is done to smooth out or increase the size of another area. Such as increasing breast size or smoothing out areas on the face.

To do this, either general or local anaesthetic is used. Small cuts are made and the fat is extracted using a procedure similar to liposuction.

The fat is then separated from any blood and other fluids, then it’s injected into the area being treated in small amounts.

How we use nano-fat transfer

At Uvence we’ve developed a safer and more effective form of fat transfer. The first part of the procedure is very similar, we start by removing a small amount of fat from an unwanted area, such as the outer thigh.

This is where the nano-fat process differs from the traditional method. Instead of separating and using the tissue, we process and purify the fat tissue that was removed. Creating a small quantity of fluid that is associated with skin repair called “super enriched tissue”.

We use some of the fluid to treat the area, and then can cryogenically store the remainder. It can be stored for up to five years, meaning we can reinject and reapply the same treatment at the patient’s discretion.

This means each patient receives the same natural treatment each time while the amount of super enriched tissue lasts over a five year period.

How we use nano-fat transfer

Fat transfer: A non-invasive anti-ageing treatment

Fat transfer isn’t a new cosmetic procedure, it’s been used since the 1980s. It has, however, advanced over the years and our super enriched tissue is the latest technological advancement.

The important thing to be aware of is that not all fat transfer treatments are equal. The method in which we extract a patient’s fat and purify it is what makes our super enriched tissue so effective.

This form of fat transfer is not designed to just fill wrinkles.

It helps to improve the texture and softness of skin, as well as restoring the plump, rejuvenated look and feel of youthful skin.

It’s for these reasons, along with the fact that it’s less invasive than some other forms of treatment that patients are opting for our super enriched tissue fat transfer procedure over the traditional methods.

Areas of application

Uvence treatments are designed to improve skin quality, both in feel and appearance, and bio remodeling.

There are a number of areas patients commonly treat with fat transfer and see noticeable improvements.

These are:

Face – This is the most common area for fat transfer. There are a number of wrinkles and signs of aging that can be reduced by using Super Enriched Tissue.

Forehead lines, frown lines, ‘crow’s feet’, lip and jaw lines, wherever lines are appearing due to ageing, super enriched tissue can be applied to reduce them.

Hands – Our hands are exposed to a lot of materials and elements that can accelerate the signs of aging or cause other skin blemishes and issues.

For many people, the skin on their hands show signs of damage due to overexposure to the sun, prolonged exposure to chemicals, excessive washing, or just ageing.

Fat transfer can help restore a more ‘plump’, youthful, and healthy appearance to the skin on your hands.

Neck – Wrinkles and lines form on the neck due to both ageing, and daily activities. Both fine and deep lines are common around the neck as we age. The appearance of both can be reduced through fat transfer applications.

Décolletage – Located just below the neck, in the beauty industry the décolletage refers to the chest and neckline.

The décolletage is an area commonly neglected within skincare routines. If your skin in this area is blemished, damaged, or showing signs of ageing, you will benefit from a fat transfer procedure.

Recognising good ‘Fat’

You will have seen the term ‘fat’ being used a lot when talking about Uvence and our Super Enriched Tissue procedure.

Fat is often used in a negative context in the cosmetic industry. However, when talking about rejuvenation, fat cells are a key element in the procedure.

When it comes to healthy, plump, youthful-looking skin, fat is essential. We all lose fat in our faces as we age. Which reduces that plump, filled appearance associated with youthfulness.

The outer layer of our skin also thins as we age. As does the number of pigment-containing cells. Both of which contribute to the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and results in an increase in blemishes and skin conditions.

Minimally invasive cosmetic procedures using fat injections are increasing in popularity due to how effective they are. Using a patient’s own fat instead of manmade fillers does not just produce better results, there are fewer downsides, too.

That’s why we use a patient’s own fat cells to create our Super Enriched Tissue application. Our process harnesses the rejuvenating properties of a patient’s cells, increases the chance of their body accepting the treatment, and we can reapply the same application in the future.

Why Uvence?

At Uvence, we’re driven by innovation. Through forming partnerships with leaders in the biochemistry, surgery, and cosmetic industries, we’ve successfully introduced an innovative, all-natural solution called Super Enriched Tissue.

Our Super Enriched Tissue application contains no chemicals. What it does include is more than 10 natural cell types, all known for their rejuvenating qualities and derived from a patient’s own tissue.

The result is an improved look, feel, and texture of the areas treated. It’s also less invasive than some other traditional forms of cosmetic treatments. In addition, because we can store a patient’s super enriched tissue, we can replicate the results with subsequent treatments.

Who can perform the treatment?

Uvence procedures can only be performed by approved Plastic Surgeons and Cosmetic Doctors with the highest level of experience and expertise.

The initial procedure involves extracting a small amount of fat tissue via micro cannula liposuction. This has to be performed at a Uvence approved clinic.

The next step is to transport the extracted tissue to an approved storage facility. All Uvence approved clinics are supplied with necessary transportation kits and locations of available facilities.

The extracted tissue is then tested for purity before being processed into Super Enriched Tissue and frozen until required for future applications.

When a patient requests another application from a Uvence approved clinic, a request will be sent and the Super Enriched Tissue will be defrosted and prepared in syringes.

The application is then administered by one of our expert physicians approved to perform the procedure.

Super Enriched Tissue is commonly injected and reinjected into the face, hands, neck, and décolletage. Although it can be administered anywhere a patient’s skin is showing signs of ageing.

If you want to know more about the process of how Super Enriched Tissue is created or where you can have applications, be sure to speak to one of our expert physicians at one of the Uvence approved clinics in London and across the country.

Why it’s safer than other traditional cosmetic procedures

Because Super Enriched Tissue is made by extracting fat tissue from a patient, it’s safer than a lot of traditional cosmetic procedures like Botox and dermal fillers.

For example, Botox is made from botulinum toxin type A. This is a purified bacteria that freezes muscles. Dermal fillers are typically filled with hyaluronic acid, a substance found in the body. But it’s not taken from the patient it’s being applied to.

Both of these cosmetic procedures are known to have side effects, related both to short and long term use.

Because Super Enriched Tissue is made from a patient’s own cells and no synthetic or chemical modifications are made, there are few to no side effects.

Super Enriched Tissue actually stimulates the naturally occurring mechanisms in a patient’s body. Meaning the cells regenerate and assist in the rejuvenation of tissues.

It’s also far less invasive than a lot of traditional cosmetic procedures, in particular, surgical alternatives.
